Considered one of the foremost references in Employability and the Future of Work on a
global scale, Amber is Executive Director of Talent & Careers at IE, where she manages a
team of more than 36 talent professionals who deliver services to 5,000 students and
60,000 alumni globally, increasing satisfaction on behalf of students, alumni and more than
4,000 corporate partners and organizations. She teaches on a range of career topics
including executive presence, body language, personal branding, networking, career
evolution, interviewing, reneging, salary negotiation and onboarding. Furthermore, she
conducts workshops for HR professionals worldwide on topics including succession
planning, diversity, inclusion and the use of neuroscience and gamification for recruiting.
Passionate about connecting top talent with the world’s most innovative companies and
organizations, Amber takes pride in moderating panels in more than 30 countries spanning
the globe. She has been quoted in numerous publications, including the Financial Times,
Bloomberg Businessweek, CNN, Expansión, El País, El Economista, Forbes and Elle.
In 2013 Amber created and led the EFMD Career Services Steering Committee, on which
she continues to serve. She is also a member of the MBA CSEA Standards Committee (USA),
as well as on the Board of Directors of HigherEd (Norway).
In addition to her role at IE, as Co-Founder of Wigmore & Álvarez, Amber regularly
conducts courses on Intercultural Management and Doing Business in Spain for foreign
executives in Spain at major multinational companies.
As a Doctor of Economics and Business Science, Amber’s research is focused on University
Social Responsibility (USR) and business ethics. She holds an International MBA from IE, as
well as a BA in Hispanic Studies and International Economics from Wheaton College
(Norton, Massachusetts), where she received a largely feminist education, which has driven
her on her mission to empower women in their careers.
